FIELD TESTING GEAR

Like most employees who work for other companies I feel as if our products are above our competitors; I believe this is human nature taking into effect the need to outperform the competition to survive; but then again, I do not have a degree in human psychology and only sell surplus for a living. (I would take this any day)

Selling Military Surplus and Tactical Gear is a dream. Even better is the amount of awesome gear I get to test out on my own outdoor escapades. This allows me to be able to tell my customers the truth on what my thoughts & opinions are for that specific product. Keeping this in mind I want to dive into my previous adventure and explain just how well our MIL-TEC® gear held up to the harsh elements of Mother Nature.

We traveled over 1,200-miles on a 21.5-hour cross country trip that landed us right in the middle of the Black Hills of Wyoming for its famous Merriam Turkey hunting. For seven days we hiked, crawled, and even ran up one mountain and down the other: enduring rain, snow, wind, and even hail. For seven days we pushed our bodies to the limit hiking 63 miles on an average of 5.5 hours of sleep; needless to say, it was a grueling yet rewarding trip. With all that was going on I was always able to focus on the task at hand, and never had to worry about if my gear was going to fail me.

The gear used and what we thought:

TEESAR® OD GEN. III SOFTSHELL PANTS- These pants are lightweight and comfortable. The large cargo pockets allowed me to store two masks and a beanie on one side and two pair of gloves on the other with plenty of room still left in both. It seemed like each afternoon there was a rain shower so the Softshell make up of the pants helped keep my lower body dry. Now I know this may sound biased, but I would rate this product 10/10.

MIL-TEC® LOW CUT RECON BOOTS- Honestly, I do not need to say much about these because walking 63 miles and never getting a blister is enough. 15/10

MIL-TEC® COYOTE SPORTS LONGJOHN- These were awesome! They are lightweight enough that you do not burn up during the middle of the day walking around, but warm enough to keep the chill out during the early morning or late evening hours of the day. (the temperatures ranged from 30 degrees to 73 degrees)

MIL-TEC® ACRYLIC WATCH CAP- Wyoming is cold! The wind in Wyoming is worse! This guy came in handy to help cut the wind and keep the chill out.

MIL-TEC® WINTER COMBAT ANORAK- Heavy duty enough to keep the chill out and cut the wind, yet lightweight enough to be able to walk around all day and not have a heat stroke. The chest pocket also came in handy for carrying a pair of binoculars.

MIL-TEC® BDU PANTS- I was genuinely impressed by these and I was not even wearing them. Our salesman Jon belly crawled for nearly two hours to try and get close to a big Ole Tom. By the end of the crawl, he had filled a tag and had no holes in the pants, even over all that rocky terrain.

MIL-TEC® LARGE ASSAULT PACK (36L)- This pack was a blessing! We kept snacks, waters, spare clothes, knives, and whatever else we thought we might need that day in these packs. This allowed us to be extremely mobile and move way off the beaten path miles from the road and truck without worrying about having to go back for something. (We even carried turkey decoys in it!)

MIL-TEC® 43-PC. FIRST AID SET- I want to first say that I am very glad that we did not have to break into this! Next, I want to say that this was a great piece of gear to bring since we were miles from the truck at any given time and if something happened, we were able to make quick fixes. This item easily attached to the MOLLE system of the assault pack making it convenient to carry as well by not taking up needed room in the pack.

Overall, I must give all this gear props. When going on a hunt like this where you are really pushing your body to the limit to achieve a goal you have set for yourself the last thing you want to worry about is if what you brought will stand up to the punishment you are putting it through.
